Have more fun Being Authentic at Work
It’s time to take your “work mask” off and let your true authenticity shine.
For the first 8 years of my career, I played a role of a person that works in tech each day. It wasn’t the real me.
The real me is joyful, outrageous, fun, creative and passionate, but the person that showed up to work each day was bland, cookie-cutter…”professional.”
It exhausted me and is a big reason I burned out. It required A LOT of energy to not only work 10 hours a day, but to maintain a persona that I thought would get promoted the fastest, blend in with others and be well-liked by everyone.
It wasn’t until I embraced my true authenticity at work, that my career soared and I become the #1 Sales Rep in my company.
If you’re struggling to be yourself at work, here are 7 ways to step into your authenticity and to have more fun.
HOW TO be authentic at work
Practice self-acceptance
Stop judging yourself so harshly. You were hired for your skillset, knowledge AND personality.
It’s not about you, it’s about them.
Understand that when people judge your character, they are projecting their own insecurities onto you.
Embrace your uniqueness, your own quirks and idiosyncrasies.
Don’t try and be like everyone else to fit in; embrace your differences and let the world experience the gift that you are.
You can’t please everyone (no matter how hard you try)
Focus on being true to yourself and the ones that love you will always love you. Remember that your most important relationship is the one with yourself.
Surround yourself with positive people.
Find people that support you and believe in you. They will hold you to your highest potential, your most authentic self and not settle for anything less.
Focus on your goals and passions.
Figure out what lights you up, shine bright and watch people flock to you.
Life is short.
Don’t waste your time and energy worrying about what other people think of you.
WHY be authentic at work
I recently came across a keynote by Gary Brecka, a human biologist, author, and entrepreneur, which I found interesting.
Brecka explained a physics law called constructive interference. This happens when two equal wavelengths meet, causing the frequency to double. Neither Einstein nor Newton could explain this phenomenon. Essentially, it means you can gain energy from conversations and even from what you're reading right now.
You can also get energy from the people around you. Conversely, we’ve all encountered people who drain the energy in a room.
Researchers can measure the frequency of energy leaving the human body during interactions. They can detect when someone feels anger, passion, or despair.
The most powerful frequency measured? Authenticity. It’s 4,000 times more powerful than love!
If you want to invite more fun, joy and fulfillment into you life, rather than stress, overwhelm and burnout, then send me an email because I’m opening up 3 coaching spots this month.
My last one on one client literally created a 10/10 life in just a few months. The left image below shows her fulfillment with 11 areas of life when we started (average 6/10) and the right is her fulfillment at the end (average 9.5/10)!

Respond to this email with “Transform” if you’re ready to transform your life, career and relationships.
Cheers,
