Have more fun in Meetings

Who’s had that manager that was obsessed with ice breakers and “building team culture?”

I did.

However, in my experience, the questions were awkward, forced and made everyone uncomfortable and more anxious than we already were.

It was kind of a running joke across our team.

Me being the fun guy, I’d always get us started with an outlandish answer to get the conversation going, but not that I’m gone, I feel for my former team.

If only my manager subscribed to this newsletter.

WHY make meetings fun

According to research, teams that use icebreakers report increased likability and better performance during meetings.

We spend over 2,000 hours a year at work. If you’re not doing everything in your power to make the experience for your team fun, joyful, and connected, then you’ll suffer from high turnover.

Company culture should be the #1 thing you focus on for the remaining of the year, because positive teams bring positive results.

Don’t be boring,

Joel
